Why Real Estate?
Real estate is one of the largest asset classes that currently exists and is also the best understood in terms of investment, with regard to buying, owning, leasing and selling property. In the past 5 years alone, real estate has continuously outperformed stocks and mutual funds. And despite the country’s current economic slowdown, real estate prices continue to rise.
On top of that, property prices in Indonesia are still among the cheapest in the Southeast Asian region. High demand for property is likely to persist in long term, given Indonesia’s large, young population and rapid urbanization.
But due to high minimum investments and transaction costs, this asset class is traditionally dominated by wealthy investors. The 2 (two) most common ways to buy real estate, cash & mortgage, both are relatively expensive. Hence, making it difficult for everyday people to afford real estate.
